Oops, damn mobile tumblr. Will head to a desktop now to fix it.
I have never run this blog as spoiler free, and have always posted news about future episodes. I always tag these posts with “spoilers”.
If you don’t want to see spoilers here, or anywhere, I highly recommend downloading xkit and using the blacklist option to block anything tagged with “spoilers”.
This blog will continue to post future episode news, so long as it involves women characters.
As validating as it was to have Misha Collins speak so openly about SPN’s misogyny problem in this here infamous moment, I thought it important to call attention to the female cast members who have been speaking about this issue (particularly their discomfort with how their characters were treated by the narrative) for the past several years and whose words have been largely either glossed over or ignored by both the fandom and the show.
- On the overall treatment of Abaddon: “She seemed kind of uncomfortable with the amount of violence and misogyny directed at her character, saying that it felt like ‘the writers were treating me as their personal therapy by putting me through all this stuff… They stabbed me, cut my head off, shot me, called me all these dirty names"…’" (x)
- On being stripped naked for her torture scene in 4x10: I hate being uncomfortable, and I laugh a lot when I’m uncomfortable, so I was pretty much giggling the whole time because I did feel uncomfortable in it. And I knew that the crew was uncomfortable about it, so I kept trying to crack jokes and make light of the situation because it was really awkward. I was strapped to this thing in barely any clothes and it was freezing cold. But Julie [McNiven] was there the whole time with me, and because I was tied up she’d cover me up and clean me off when the blood was running down in certain places. Having my friend there really helped.” (x)
- On her reaction to Naomi’s death: I knew I [Naomi] was going to die because, ya know… female character on the show [whole room goes quiet, slow clapping ensues in agreement]. (x)
This is not at all a complete list. I’m slowly going through old articles and panel write-ups and expect to edit this post many times over the coming month.
If you can recall any other excerpts or testimonies, please send me a message with a link to its source.
Hello dear anon,
Firstly, I didn’t consider this a spoiler, it’s unconfirmed and I feel like it really doesn’t give any of the plot away. I don’t know if (spoilers) Claire is coming back. As you know many things that the fandom thinks are going to definitely happen for sure don’t end up panning out- frankly no one will know until season 10 actually happens. Once season ten does actually happen I will of course tag any spoilers that come through here as I would hate to lessen anyone’s enjoyment of the show. But as far as the post I reblogged about Claire, I consider that a theory until proven otherwise and perhaps it would keep your blood pressure down if you would do the same.
If any of you ever needs something tagged of course I will do it, this blog is here for you guys to enjoy. But you have to tell me about it before I can actually tag it. Please send me a message for tagging things but there’s no need to make it rude, and it makes it a lot harder to take you seriously.
In closing, all anon hate does, dear anon, is further negativity and this is a space for celebration of the women of a wonderful (although not flawless) show. If you feel the need in your heart to unfollow me that’s your decision and I wish you the best.

"Dean, listen, I need help.... I know I don't deserve it."
~ Bela Talbot, 'possibly a Demon by this time,' according to the Supernatural Wiki
"I was the best of those sons of bitches! Even you have to admit - I’m awesome!"
We have to admit that Ruby was, indeed, awesome. With the ambitious goal of kick-starting the apocalypse, she faced alienation from other demons, worked with the very creatures she hoped to destroy, and was verbally and physically abused by those on both sides.
But even with all the obstacles she faced, she succeeded! (Awesome, right?)
